Hello all.
Today I wanted to take some time and make note of one of my all time favorite artists. Dan LuVisi.
I have only recently discovered this artist the other week, but I have been studying every inch of his art and it feels as if I have been following him for years. Dan is a digital painter, and he has worked as a concept artist for Hasbro, FOX, Universal, Microsoft as well as DC Comics. Although, it is not his professional work that has interested me. It is his personal work.
While browsing his art, I became captivated by his characters. His style just spoke to me. Vivid in color, beautifully painted, amazing characters, imaginative and vivid in life and detail. Traditional but very much his own at the same time. It was these characters that made me want to dive in more. Dan has created a world all his own. I have been very interested in Dan’s character: Alice. She is a rocker in a fictional band, and her guitar also carries one mean punch acting as a gun.
I could go on, but I think time would be better spent if you took the time to look at some of his work. I will include some of my favorite images of Dan’s at the end of this post. Including Alice. (Side note: I hope to model Alice for my demo reel in the future.)
Dan is also releasing a graphic novel surrounding his characters. His character art has become so popular it is no surprise people need more. It is called “Last Man Standing: Kill Book of a Bounty Hunter.” I have pre ordered a copy.
