New Projects

Hello every one. It has been a little bit since I updated, and that is because we are getting into bigger and bigger projects every week. Each one is taking more time, so I have less little updates and more big ones coming soon. Today I wanted to give you a quick peek at a few things I finished up with this week. And then give you a little update on what you should soon see. (make sure to click the continue reading button to see more)

In 3D Animation class we have been learning about walk and run cycles. When I finish my walk cycle later this week, I will make sure to post a short clip of it on YouTube for you to see.

In classic animation we have also been doing walk cycles. I did my first classic animated walk cycle, and I uploaded it online. This was about 6 hours of work spread out over the last 2 weeks. The result is not amazing, but damn I sure have a new appreciation for classic animation.

We are now learning how to animate in Flash. I already have extensive knowledge in Flash, but the style we are learning is Flash cartoons for TV. My teacher has animated in this style for several cartoons. I have never studied this style before, so it should be interesting. I will keep you posted…

In Digital Imaging we also learned some more stuff for TV production. We recently learned how to texture a 3D character and make it look 2D. It is a style known as “Toon Shading” and my teacher has textured this style for several TV shows. Here is the final result: (click on the image to see it in full size)

In modeling we are working on our first character models.  I have finished mine… But I plan on doing a few more things to it before I make a post about it.  I should have a post up about it sometime next week.  And finally in Production class we are lighting a scene, and that should be finished next week as well… I will make a post about that when finished and in XSI we have been learning about vehicle and character rigging.  I don’t have anything to show you for those, but speaking of vehicle, I plan on finally texturing my Hummer this week.

You should be seeing these things soon!

Thanks for reading, and I will be posting again later this week.
