Leonardo Da Vinci Anatomical Drawings

Hey all,

Well things are starting to settle here in Vancouver.  Well, at least for me… the city is far from settled right now with the Olympics.  So I am letting you guys know that I should be back to posting and Twittering here in the coming week now that things are starting to level out.  But anyways, that is not what I wanted to mention today.

What I wanted to mention was that recently, I went to the Vancouver Art Gallery downtown where they currently have an exhibit on Leonardo da Vinci and his anatomical drawings.

Art historians say that when it came to anatomical drawings, Leonardo had one of the, if not the greatest eyes for drawing the human body.  He would sneak into mortuaries at night and would preform dissections on the human body to further understand anatomy.  He wrote in his journals that he preformed over 30 dissections in his time.

I wanted to show you some pictures from my visit at the museum. As a budding 3D artist anatomy is vital to my study. I am so amazed with the detail of Leonardo’s eye; the type of precision that scientists still reference today.

Enjoy.
