Dr. Seuss Original Art Sketches

I don’t want to be typing much here because I want these images to speak for themselves. When I was in Jackson Hole, WY I went to the National Museum of Wildlife Art and they had a special gallery of Dr. Seuss’ work, “The Lorax.” One of my favorite child hood books, it was written one year after the first Earth Day. The message is pretty hard to miss… Don’t destroy our world and nature for human greed, or bad things happen.

Here are some images and sketches of his work before they were final in book form. It is always amazing to the the process of another artist, especially some one as famous as Dr. Seuss.

Dr. Suess! My all time favorite…not only was he a talented artist, he was a witty and wise author who knew how to send important messages to kids and parents alike. I miss reading his books with my children.

He was most def one of a kind.

I actually got to see some of his original work here in Houston at a gallery a couple years back! Good stuff! I couldn’t afford any of it at the time but wanted it all! Dr. Seuss is responsible for some of my craziness.
